Great programming, great staff, an asset to the city! Park & rec has improved a lot in the last ten years, check them out if you haven’t in a while.

Very friendly staff and well designed summer programs for kids. My daughter enjoyed her time with the teachers and the various crafts and activities there.

My family has been involved with all the wonderful employees of Somerville Recreation for at least 7 years- from Tot Time to Somertime Day program to many of their awesome camps: basketball, tennis, canoe, art etc etc. I have personally worked closely with Alicia Querusio, Jeremy Vallesio and Ryan Chambers. These 3 individuals (amongst many others) have been nothing but professional, compassionate and empowering. They promote a positive and open environment for my children where they feel safe to have fun, meet new friends and be themselves. The programs are well organized, they know every kid that walks through the door without even looking at the list and provide a transparent environment if a situation occurs. As my daughter grows older, the Rec could be a great opportunity for her to start as a summer job with excellent role models! Somerville Rec rocks!

Great memories growing up and taking bus over winter hill to swim at Foss park during those hot summer days.
